Dr. Saakshi Chauhan is a dedicated forestry researcher specializing in agroforestry, geospatial analysis, silviculture, and tree improvement, currently contributing to research, extension, and educational activities as a Project Fellow at the Forest Research Institute, Dehradun; she holds a strong academic foundation with advanced degrees in Forestry (Agroforestry) from Dr. YSP UHF Nauni, Solan, and has established an impressive profile through her work on agroforestry suitability mapping, carbon sequestration, nutrient management, and bio-economic evaluation of agrisilvicultural systems; throughout her career, she has demonstrated expertise in remote sensing, economic analysis, natural resource management, and integrated land-use systems, supported by her ability to perform under pressure, collaborate effectively, lead student associations, and contribute to scientific magazines and professional societies, including her membership in IUFRO, ATDS, and the International Journal of Economic Plants; her research contributions encompass studies on growth and yield responses of legumes under Morus-based systems, bio-economic assessments, carbon stock potential in cereal and pulse-based agroforestry systems, altitudinal variability in biomass and carbon storage, integrated nutrient management in wheat and lentil intercropping under agroforestry, and geospatial evaluation of groundwater potential zones; she has authored multiple publications in reputed journals, contributed book chapters on the role of agroforestry in reclaiming problematic soils, and presented her work at major international conferences on sustainable agriculture, food security, value-chain development, and biodiversity conservation; recognized with merit certificates, scholarships, and a prestigious Best M.Sc.
